Product Description
CTA-832 has been formulated to ensure superior adhesive performance under the very demanding conditions commonly found in today?s fast paced construction and raises the bar for the performance of pressure sensitive adhesives. The brand new formula means that contractors may
install carpet tile and vinyl backed broadloom carpet over concrete subfloors with elevated moisture emissions or
in situ relative humidity levels. CTA-832 may also be used to install vinyl tile (LVT) and approved carpet cushions
in double-glue installations. The CRI Green-label Plus Adhesive Certification Program has certified CTA-832 as a
"low VOC" adhesive.
CTA-832 is a fast drying, pressure sensitive adhesive specifically formulated for the installation of carpet tiles and
double-glue padding over commonly encountered smooth, clean sub-floors. CTA-832 is non-flammable, water
resistant and has excellent vinyl plasticizer migration resistance. Like all of our adhesives, this adhesive is
protected by the CleanGuard® two-stage antimicrobial. CleanGuard is a specifically formulated broad-spectrum,
anti-microbial agent that protects our adhesives and sealers from microorganisms, such as mold or mildew, in both
the wet and dry state.
Pre-Installation Checklist
A successful installation requires proper preparation of the sub floor. Read and understand all applicable guidelines and technical data sheets before installation. Follow industry standards and flooring manufacturer's recommendations for sub floor moisture content, design, layout and application of flooring materials. All slab constructions must meet the specific requirements of the floor covering to be installed.
Sub Floor Examination
Prior to installation, the sub floor must be checked according to applicable installation guidelines. It must be solid and sound, flat, permanently dry, clean, free of chaps, indentations and anti-adherents, as well as resistant to pressure and tension. Moisture content of all floors must be measured before installation.
Moisture content in concrete sub floors must be below 8#/24hrs/1,000 sq. ft. using the Calcium Chloride Test or less than 85% RH using the in-situ test per ASTM F1869 and F2170.

Sub Floor Preparation
Depending on type and condition of sub floor, a mechanical treatment (e.g. mechanical brushing, grinding or sanding) may be required. Intensity of such work must be determined at the site by the installer. Dust, paint, residual adhesives or other surface contaminants must be removed by suitable means. Cleaning the surface with an industrial vacuum cleaner is recommended. Cracks and gaps must be filled with concrete crack filler unless they are expansion joints. Level when necessary to 3/16 inches within 10 feet. Heated sub floors must be primed.
Installation Procedure
Spread the adhesive with the appropriate notched trowel. Avoid excessive adhesive thickness by passing the trowel evenly through the adhesive at a 45 degree angle. Observe the appropriate flash time (if applicable). Lay the flooring into the adhesive, correctly position it and press down firmly. Be sure to check the back of the flooring to make certain good adhesive transfer from sub floor to flooring is achieved. Roll flooring approx. 15-30 min after installation with a 75-100# roller if recommended by the flooring manufacturer. Push down raised edges approx. 30-60 min after installation.
Store and transport protected from freezing. Recommended minimum temperatures are 35 °F for transport and 40 °F for storage. Do not stir product if frozen, allow to thaw completely.
When using other than STAUF products in conjunction with STAUF primers, sealers, leveling compounds, or adhesives, STAUF denies any and all responsibility for any ensuing problems and/or damages without prior written authorization from STAUF.

This adhesive will maintain its integrity and performance even when higher levels of moisture are present. While adhesive can withstand up to 8#/24 hrs/1,000 SF (Calcium Chloride Test) and 85% RH (in-situ probe) of moisture, it does not qualify as a moisture inhibitor. Please see below for recommended sealers if a moisture barrier is required. Not suitable for areas with excessive topical moisture (i.e. melting snow, repeated flooding, pressure washing) or extreme horizontal shear forces; use R-Series adhesives under these circumstances.
