Test Results Confirm Four Stauf Adhesives Products Compatible with Underlayments from 3 Major Brands
MEMPHIS, Tennessee, June 26, 2007 – Officials at Memphisbased Stauf Adhesives reported today that test results from ist laboratory in Germany confirm that four of its products can be used with underlayments from three major companies – Tarkett, Foam Products, and Sound Solution – both to adhere the foam to the subfloor and to adhere wood flooring to the foam.
The underlayments are Quiet-Cor Sound DeadeningUnderlayment from Tarkett, Sound Solution Underlayment from Healthier Choice, and Silencer HD Underlayment from Foam Products Corporation. (Note: currently over two dozen underlayments are warranted.)
Stauf will warrant the use of its adhesives for both gluing the foam down and gluing wood flooring to the foam underlayment. Stauf’s four adhesives are:
- WFR-930 Solva-Mastic Solvent Wood Flooring Adhesive
- SMP-940 Superior MS Polymer Wood Flooring Adhesive
- SMP-960 One-Step MS Polymer Wood Flooring Adhesive w/ Sound and Moisture Barrier (Note: not any more.)
- PUM-950 Power-Mastic Urethane Wood Flooring Adhesive
Stauf stresses that normal installation procedure must be followed to ensure superior results. The recommended Stauf Trowel for adhering the underlayments to the subfloor with any of the above adhesives is the No. 3 Stauf Trowel, XTR-3G (5/32" x 1/8" x 3/16"). (Note: a new Stauf Trowel XTR-15 has been introduced with flat-V notches spaced 3/32“ x 3/32“ x 3/32“) Stauf installation instructions found on each pail must be used.
